Kids these days . . . Are awesome!
62 of them came to our door tonight trick or treating.
Almost all of them said thank you. Some of them were too excited to say thank you. Some of them didn’t have the social skills to. All of them were kids out being kids.
Almost all of them were dressed up. A couple older ones weren’t. I gave those kids double. Because they decided to go out and just be a kid for one night while that childhood is slipping away on them.
One kid said (not asked) that he would take two chocolate bars because they couldn’t decide on just one kind. Some might think that’s rude. It’s a kid, excited by a bowl of his favourite candy. Heck ya, you can have two chocolate bars.
Kids squealed with excitement, in a rush to get from one house to the next. Probably jacked to see if they could actually get that pillowcase filled. Already waiting to tell stories tomorrow to their friends at school about their adventures. Kids being kids. Not always with perfect manners in the midst of all the excitement. But kids being kids.
Kids these days are kids. And they are awesome.
